Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of software development experience.
- Sound understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience in developing Algorithms or Quantitative development.
- Proficient in Python and C.
- Experience with web application framework, web interface development.
- Experience with SQL, XML, JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with host-based security procedures
- Background in working on high performance or distributed computing applications is a plus.

We are looking for an individual, who has interests across diverse areas of investment and finance, including: investment selection, asset allocation, portfolio construction & optimization, behavioral finance, and risk modeling.
You need to be comfortable analyzing real-world data and writing code using Matlab and/or R.
The primary responsibility of the role is to research and develop innovative automated investment strategies. You will also work on the algorithmic implementation of these strategies backed by rigorous research on market and other financial data. You will be responsible for:

- Developing portfolio optimization models and investment algorithms.
- Developing and conducting back tests for the proposed models / algorithms.
- Carry out empirical statistical analysis / modeling on data and developing actionable insights.
- Collaborate with the offshore engineering team to implement proposed strategies / algorithms.
- Research, acquire and integrate, datasets from diverse sources.
- Work with the Toronto team to commercialize new products and enhancements.
- Degree or relevant experience in finance or economics.
- 2-5 year hands-on experience analyzing complex data and building statistical models and algorithms.
- Programming competency in R and / or Matlab preferred.
- Programming competency in SQL preferred.
- Progress towards CFA is nice to have.
